The golf course grooming crew has been working to pack a base out of the scant snow we’ve been getting the past few days. Last night, after the initial rolling of the skate lane, there were rocks visible where the skate lane crosses cart paths and grass visible in quite a few places. This morning, after the second rolling of the skate lane, there are still some places where grass is showing, but I didn’t see any rocks.
If anyone skate skis today, it will tear the skate lane up, and they will likely harm their skis. The base is so thin that each stride will go through the snow to the surface below, including rocks on the cart paths beneath the snow. There isn’t nearly enough snow to run the Ginzu to repair ruts that will be created if anyone skate skis today, so please don’t skate ski today.
If we get enough snow to cover the snowmobile ski tracks when it is rolled, we will roll it again. We’ll post more about the conditions tonight. Let’s hope we can ski tomorrow!
