Skiers,
We are going to have the Helena Snowdrifters groom our trails with their Pisten Bully grooming machine this Friday, probably starting mid-morning and possibly into the early afternoon. The Pisten Bully is a large tracked grooming machine with a plow on the front and tiller system on the back. You’ve probably seen similar machines working the snow at downhill ski areas. It’s purpose is to compact and level out the trails, and to refinish the surface. It also is useful for plowing out the drifts that we are starting to see on parts of our trails. If you encounter the Pisten Bully while out skiing, please step off to the side of the trail….perhaps a bit further than you normally would when encountering our snowmobile groomers.
Also, we won’t be grooming trails tomorrow but a crew will be grooming on Thursday morning. Please let me know if you have questions.
