Do your part to make groomed nordic skiing possible in Helena – volunteer for an upcoming trail work day!
Please consider joining the Last Chance Nordic Ski Club (LCNSC) for trail maintenance days on: Friday 10/9, Sunday 10/11, Monday 10/12, and Saturday 10/17.
We will meet at the normal MacDonald Pass parking lot north of Highway 12 at 10:00 am and will be working until roughly 3:00pm. If you have to leave early, we’d appreciate whatever time you have to offer. No RSVP necessary.
Work will involve:
1) Clearing fallen trees
2) Removing woody regrowth from trail
3) Weed whipping tall grass
4) Posting trail signage
Bring work gloves, eye protection, ear plugs, water, snacks, weather appropriate clothes, chain saws, weed whips, and garden shears if you have them. Blaze orange clothing is also encouraged as bow and upland bird season is underway. Direct questions to Peter Brumm at mmurb219@gmail.com.
COVID Precautions
LCNSC is concerned for the health of all club members and volunteers. Trail maintenance days generally involve 15 people or less working outside. This year we will break into small groups (5 or less) and provide masks. If anyone would prefer to assist individually at another time to further reduce their exposure, please email the contact listed above to coordinate dates and tasks.
